(VOVworld) – A ceremony was held by the Military Attaché Office at the Vietnam Embassy in Berlin on Wednesday, to mark the 70^th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).

Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh reviewed the army’s history, stating that the Vietnamese people, who have fought against several foreign aggressors to defend the country, treasure peace. The army, while constantly reinforcing its defensive strength, has actively participated in international operations bilaterally and multilaterally to build a strategic trust and develop a peaceful environment. The Vietnamese Government and the army highly value Germany’s support, especially in personnel training, she said, noting that the trained officers will help cement ties between the two armies and peoples.
