(VOVworld)-President Tran Dai Quang has stressed the importance of Vietnam hosting APEC Year 2017, saying that the event is a cornerstone in Vietnam’s foreign policy and an opportunity to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations as well as improve Vietnam’s status globally.

During Tuesday’s inspection tour of Da Nang city, which will host the APEC 2017 Economic Leaders' Week, President Quang urged for greater efforts to finalize the necessary infrastructure and ensure optimal security and safety for the event. He said that it’s important to further publicize APEC Year 2017 among the population, who will play a crucial role in promoting Vietnam’s image to the outside world.
