Best conditions ensured for high school graduation exams

(VOVWORLD) - More than 1 million students across Vietnam will begin the high school graduation exams on Wednesday and Thursday. They will take separate tests on mathematics, literature, foreign language, and a social or natural science test. Localities have carefully prepared facilities and hum an resources to make sure that the exams will go smoothly.

The Ministry of Education and Training has coordinated with other ministries and sectors to thoroughly prepare for the high school graduation exams. Provincial Health Departments have prepared first aid for emergencies. The Ministry of Public Security will ensure safety and security at test sites.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong, Head of the National Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Exams 2023, said that 2,300 test sites across the country are ready.

 “The Ministry of Education and Training, and the provincial People’s Committees and Examinations Councils are determined to offer the best conditions for the pupils to sit for the exams. We hope they have prepared to be in good health and to strictly abide by exam regulations,” said Mr. Thuong.

Nguyen Thi Thuy, Director of Quang Ninh provincial Department of Education and Training, said: “For regions with special conditions, we have backup plans. If there is abnormal weather, we’ll provide transportation to take teachers to test sites and ensure the best possible conditions for the students.”

Kon Tum province has 5,000 high school students, including 1,700 ethnic students living in remote and border areas. Determined to enable all pupils unable to take the exams, authorities have helped them rehearse before the exams.

Pham Thi Trung, Director of Kon Tum’s Department of Education and Training, said: “The pupils were helped to take extra lessons before the exams. Youth Unions at all levels also organized support activities such as youth volunteer programs, raising funds for pupils in difficult circumstances, and providing accommodation for pupils far from homes.”
