(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese government line-up has been finalized following the approval of the National Assembly. With the combination of cabinet members of the previous term and newly-elected members, the new government is confident of leading Vietnam to become a high-income developed country by the middle of the 21st century.

The new cabinet members all have held important positions in localities, ministries, and sectors.
Ready for new duties
In their inauguration speeches, the newly-elected ministers said they feel honored and proud to accept their new duties. As Vietnam accelerates national renewal in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, each cabinet member is aware of the need to adopt a new mindset to create effective changes.
Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc said: "In this tenure we need to overcome difficulties, boost economic development, improve the resilience and competitiveness of the economy, help businesses grow, and improve people’s lives while at the same time generating more revenue."
Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, said Vietnam will continue to persistently and patiently pursue a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, development, multilateralization, diversification of foreign relations, and comprehensive and extensive international integration. Vietnam is ready to befriend, and be a reliable partner to other countries and wants to cooperate with them on the basis of international law and mutual benefit.

Mr. Son said: "We need to specify the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress focusing on deepening relations with our partners. Once we have good relations with other countries, our peace, stability and cooperation will be sustained."
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said it’s important to devise a Strategy on Vietnamese culture in the 2021-2026 period. The Ministry will focus more on domestic tourism, stimulus packages, and preparations to receive international visitors when the conditions improve. Mr. Hung stressed the importance of successfully organizing SEA Games 31 this year.
Public trust
The public is confident that the new cabinet members have realistic views and dynamism and will realize the goals set out in the 13th National Party Congress. The Prime Minister and Cabinet members hope to bring into play their wisdom and capacity to continue the success of the previous terms.
Vu Quoc Cu, a resident of Bac Kan province, said: "I hope the Prime Minister and the government will continue the achievements of the previous term in containing the pandemic and boosting the economy to successfully realize the resolution of the 13th National Party Congress."
In the near future, Vietnam will face several challenges: fighting COVID-19, reforming the economy, implementing new free trade agreements, attracting foreign investment, and streamlining administrative procedures. With creativity and enthusiasm, the new cabinet members can meet these challenges and boost national growth.
