Consensus creates national unity

According to the National Election, overall voter turnout was nearly 98.43% for a general election in which democracy, equality, and compliance with the law were ensured. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, localities and agencies were able to persuade people to come out and vote while following health regulations. The turnout rate reached 99% in many provinces including Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Binh Dinh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Ben Tre province. In Lang Son and Lao Cai province, 99.98% of voters cast their ballots.

Even in epidemic-hit areas, the voting turnout was high, showing the voters’ trust in the Party and State.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said, 'Holding the election during a pandemic, we saw the strength of national unity which has, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, enabled the Vietnamese revolution to win victory after victory. During the last 75 years, the Vietnamese National Assembly has consistently fulfilled its mission. In the 15th tenure, the NA will work even harder to be a worthy representative of the people and the agency with the greatest state power in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.'

Confidence in the elected candidates

Sunday’s elections are an important event for the Vietnamese people. Most are satisfied with the current political system, which ensures stability and national economic growth. That’s why they continue to have faith that outstanding candidates will be elected to lead the country to further growth.

Cam Xuan E of Son La city said, 'I feel I have greater responsibility whenever I go to vote. I’m very happy with the nation’s steady growth. Every Vietnamese citizen should uphold their responsibility.'

Huynh Van Nua, a voter in Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province, said, 'We cast our ballots early. We selected the candidates who we believe will best serve national development. I hope our rural areas will be renovated and our economy will continue to grow.'

The high turnout rate shows that Vietnamese people are aware of their rights and duties as citizens and have confidence in the Party and State.
