Visiting Hanoi in autumn, tourists can take a leisurely stroll along tree-lined streets, such as Thanh Nien, Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Dieu, Dien Bien Phu, and Trang Thi or take a walk by Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, and Long Bien Bridge.
Some people contemplate ancient architectural works at the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam) and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, then enjoy autumn food in Hanoi's Old Quarter.
“Autumn in Hanoi is beautiful and pleasantly cool. My friends and I prefer to drive through the many peaceful streets and enjoy young sticky rice dishes, Hanoi's autumn specialty,” a Hanoian woman said.
“It’s cool and the scenery becomes so romantic. I often recall the memories of my childhood. A new school year begins in the autumn,” said a girl.
Experts say that autumn in Hanoi is unique, and this fact offers a lot of potential to develop tourism. Travel agencies have designed special tours in autumn to explore famous attractions, such as the Temple of Literature, West Lake, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ly Thai To flower garden, a night tour of Hoa Lo Prison relic site, and taking photos at Phan Dinh Phung street. Special events and festivals will be held on this occasion, including the Hanoi Beer Festival and Hanoi Ao Dai (traditional long dress) Festival.
Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said that besides festivals, food and traditional cyclo tours, and ripe rice season tours will be offered.
“We’ll organize appropriate activities at different times to promote local products and destinations. We’ll continue to improve the quality of tourist sites and services,” said Minh.
