Hue International Arts Festival Week is ready to welcome tourists

A 6,100-seat outdoor theater has been set up in front of Kien Trung Palace in the Hue Citadel. This stage, equipped with advanced sound and lighting that includes laser, LED matrix, and hologram projection lights and 3D mapping, will host the opening program of the Hue International Arts Festival, a Trinh Cong Son music night, and the festival’s closing ceremony on June 12.

There will be nightly art performances at the Hue Citadel’s Thai Binh Palace and Thieu Phuong Garden.

Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien-Hue province, said: "The festival will take advantage of architectural works within the Hue Citadel, particularly Kien Trung Palace. This grand palace, with its unique architectural beauty and landscaping, will serve as the main stage. At Thai Binh Palace and Thieu Phuong Garden, a French Light Festival that uses 3D mapping technology will create a memorable multi-dimensional experiences for attendees."

Travel agencies have been promoting destinations and tours coordinated with the Festival Week and hotels have already received a lot of bookings.

Nguyen Ich Hieu, CEO of Muong Thanh Holiday Hue Hotel, said: "We have launched a variety of promotions to attract tourists. We want tourists to experience Hue’s culture and cuisine."

Thua Thien-Hue province hopes to welcome 3.5 to 4 million visitors this year.
