(VOVWORLD) - The 2024 Hue International Arts Festival Week concluded with an art program called “Returning to Hue Festival” on Wednesday at Kien Trung Palace in Hue Imperial City. The 5-dayevent, part of Hue Festival 2024, featured multiple activities and cultural exchanges between countries worldwide, leaving a strong impression on both visitors and local people.

Highlights of the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 included performances by domestic and international art troupes, the music program “Dialogue with Trinh Cong Son – Love Found”, a light festival, a “Cultural Color” street festival, a royal gala dinner, a beer festival, a lantern festival, and a vegetarian cuisine festival.
The programs brought together hundreds of artists and performers, both professional and amateur. Nguyen Trong Duong, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “The festival had many fun and meaningful activities that really impressed us.”
Besides the main programs at the Hue Imperial Citadel, many street festivals, and community stages were available for residents and tourists. Notable activities included the Tam Giang River Festival and the Countryside Market Festival.
Mai Huyen Trang, a resident of Hue, said: “This year’s street festival was very exciting. It is a standout activity of the overall festival, garnering positive responses from both locals and tourists. The diverse street art performances and vibrant atmosphere, along with community activities along the banks of the Huong River created a lively and engaging experience.”
The tourism sector estimates that the festival attracted more than 100,000 domestic and foreign visitors.
Nguyen Thanh Binh, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee, said: “Thua Thien-Hue Province views the Festival as a crucial driver to strengthen Hue’s status as a culture and tourist center. Continuing the success of previous festivals, we aim to meet the expectations of local people, visitors and festival enthusiasts. The Hue Festival has become a national brand of international significance over its 24-year history. This event is key in our efforts to develop Hue into a centrally run city in the near future.”
