Maximum safety of COVID-19 vaccination ensured

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam officially launched on Sunday its biggest ever vaccination program intending to vaccinate all Vietnamese people over 18. The program, which will run until April next year, prioritizes public safety.
Vietnam has mobilized a large force for this campaign including local medical workers at civilian and military health care centers in order to maximize vaccination coverage.
Maximal safety for vaccinated people will be ensured by careful screening and post-vaccination monitoring. Medical workers will stand by to promptly deal with any incident. The Ministry of Health is applying IT to vaccination management and using e-medical books to monitor each individual vaccination history. Vaccinated people are given a QR code in their e-medical book. The Ministry of Health has set up an independent vaccine quality oversight program to oversee all steps in vaccination from transportation, storage, and distribution to inoculation.
At the launch of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said Vietnam is determined to realize its Vaccine Strategy by focusing on import, technology transfer, and research to develop and produce vaccines in Vietnam in order to provide free inoculations to everyone.
The Prime Minister said everyone is equally entitled to free, prompt, safe, and effective vaccination:
'The more difficulties we face, the more united we should stay and support one another to successfully realize our vaccine strategy. We need to be confident that we can contain the epidemic to protect people’s health and continue to develop our country. We believe that after this fight, we will be stronger to make our country prosperous,' said the Prime Minister.
Vietnam plans to deliver 150 million doses to 75 million of its 100 million population by early next year.
