(VOVWORLD) - The 2020 National Startup Festival for Students and Pupils was held in Hanoi to promote the startup spirit of students and encourage them to change their mindset and act to realize their dreams. The Festival has connected students with innovative ideas and startup projects with businesses.

This year’s National Startup Festival, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam’s universities, received twice as many startup projects as in 2019. 72 projects made it to the final round. Several projects have already been implemented and achieved results, such as the STEM Education Ecosystem created by students from the Hanoi University of Technology.
Vu Lan Huong, a member of STEM project, said their purpose is to provide cheap STEM products for pupils:“We have developed and sold our products for more than a year. We are trying to improve them and are working to add more products. We intend to sell our products to schools and expand our business. We hope venture funds will invest in our business.”

The National Startup Festival has been held for 3 years. It has been an attractive venue for students to share their innovative ideas and connect businesses with feasible projects.
Le Dang Thai Phong, a member of a project on Aerial observation devices and fire and carbon poisoning detectors at the Da Nang University of Technology and Education, said: “We are students and we study technology. We need investors and financial support. The Festival helps us gain experience, improve our products, and meet investors and business people.”
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the Festival helps students change their mindset and dare to start a business. It has connected innovative ideas with investors.
