Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong once said “Never before has our country had such great potential and international prestige as it does today.” Vietnam’s achievements are due to the creativity and tireless efforts of the Party, people and army of Vietnam and the strength of the national unity bloc under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The important role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other social organizations has been affirmed and strengthened in all aspects. The close bond between the Vietnam Fatherland Front, other social organizations and the people has been strengthened. The Party and State policies on national unity have been completed and institutionalized.

All classes of people have joined hands with the Party and State to overcome difficulties, meet challenges, maintain political stability, socio-economic development, national defense and national security, improve people’s lives, and raise Vietnam’s international status.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front is continuing and promoting the glorious tradition of its predecessor, the Vietnam United Front, to enhance social consensus, encourage people to promote democracy, and strictly follow the Party guidelines and State policies in national construction and development.

Patriotic emulation movements and other campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its affiliate members have received strong public support and have strengthened national unity. During the fight against COVID-19 since 2020, Vietnamese people have united to contain the pandemic, protect public health, stabilize production, and recover and develop the economy.

The Communist Party of Vietnam has affirmed that promoting national unity is a strategic guideline of the Vietnamese revolution in national construction and defense. To successfully move toward socialism and realize the goal of “a rich people, a strong country, democracy, equality, and civilization”, the Vietnamese Party will continue to enhance national unity, and the will and creativity of the Vietnamese people. The Party will continue to promote, and ensure the people’s right to mastery and ensure that all state power belongs to the people. The Party will continue to promote direct democracy, representative democracy, and democracy at the grassroots level, harmoniously settle issues between members of society, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people. All Party guidelines and State policies are in the people’s interests. The Party will continue to institutionalize and specify guidelines on national unity, fine-tune and effectively implement mechanisms and policies to bring into play the public role in deciding major national issues, ensure their state power belongs to the people, by the people, and for the people, overcome limitations, and promote the oversight and social argument role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and social organizations, create social consensus, enhance Party building, and the building of a pure, strong government, and consolidate the close bond between the Party, State, and people in national development.

To strengthen national unity, the Party will continue to fine-tune its mechanisms and policies, ensure equality, respect, and harmonize relations between ethnic groups to rally their engagement for national development.

The Party will continue to reform its leadership to further promote national unity.  It will also strengthen inspection, promote the people’s right to mastery, enhance the unity and creativity of the people, and improve the performance of agencies in the political system in order to effectively promote the strength of national unity on the path toward socialism.
