Painting contest themed Summer Dreams during COVID-19

(VOVWORLD) - COVID-19 has affected every household and individual in Vietnam. Many people have found ways to inspire others in the fight against the pandemic. Lại Thị Mừng, a resident of Ho Chi Minh City, organized a painting contest for all the children in her family.

Since she introduced her family’s painting contest last week, Lại Thị Mừng’s Facebook page has attracted lots of viewers. The prizes range from 4 USD to 40 USD. Mung said the theme is encouraging medical staff and other people on the frontline against the pandemic.
“I’m moved to see the paintings. It’s a meaningful activity for the children during their summer vacation. Through coloful images, the encourage positive thinking and responsibility in the fight against the epidemic and paying gratitude to frontline coronavirus warriors.”
All 12 children in Mrs. Mung’s family participated in the contest. Lai Khanh Ngoc is one of them: “Here are the 5 paintings I like the most. This is a painting of doctors in white coats during a break. One is playing a guitar and singing. Others are just sitting around. I want to encourage all the doctors who are dedicated to saving lives.”
The children reveal an understanding of epidemic prevention and sympathy for soldiers, policemen, medical staff, and volunteers. They express a strong belief that Vietnam and the world will beat the coronavirus pandemic. Mung said she will donate the best paintings to doctors in Da Nang, now the COVID-19 epicenter of Vietnam.
