(VOVWORLD) - Domestic tourism is expected to boom during the upcoming holiday on the occasion of National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1st) as the COVID-19 pandemic is now under control. Travel companies, airlines, hotels and restaurants have prepared promotional programs to attract more tourists.

Many Vietravel tours, particularly tours of Quy Nhon, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Con Dao have been fully booked. Tours of Sa Pa, Ha Long, and the Mekong Delta have seen strong sales.
Huynh Phan Phuong Hoang, Deputy Director General of Vietravel, said: "The number of customers of Vietravel has risen sharply. Every day we receive queries from more than 2,000 customers who want to book tours for the upcoming holiday or this summer. We have launched several promotions before the holiday and summer offering low prices."
Overseas tours are now closed due to the pandemic, so many tourists have shifted to high-end domestic tours with luxury hotels, and business class air tickets. Travel companies also offer family tours and packages that include air tickets and hotel rooms.
Bui Thanh Tu, Marketing Manager of the Best Price Travel Company, said: "Tour prices are much lower than before the pandemic. A tour to Phu Quoc now costs only 120 USD. It was 200 USD before the pandemic. A boat tour of Ha Long Bay is now only 100 USD, 20 dollars cheaper than before."
Many travel companies have coordinated with localities, transportation companies, and airlines to offer reasonably priced tours. During the upcoming holiday, flights between Hanoi and HCM City by Vietnam Airlines will use large-body aircraft. Bamboo Airways plans to add 100 flights.
Nghiem Thu Hoa, Deputy Director for Trade of Bamboo Airways, said: "Bamboo now has 60 domestic routes and offers promotional programs for each route. We also have special services for business class customers. All business class passengers will receive a voucher for staying at any FLC resort."
