Ha Long city, the centerpiece of National Tourism Year 2018, is upgrading its infrastructure and lighting systems and planting more trees. Quang Ninh province has invested in unique tourism products and accommodations. There are more than 1,300 hotels with more than 20,000 rooms in Quang Ninh. Vu Thi Thanh of the Quang Ninh Tourism Department says: “We are encouraging investment in resorts and high-end hotels. The number of visitors to Quang Ninh and Ha Long city is expected to rise in the near future. We hope our accommodations will meet tourists’ demand.”

Last year, the province expanded tours to border and islands areas and organized a number of festivals to introduce local attractions. Trinh Dang Thanh is Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism: "With the theme “Ha Long – heritage – wonder - friendly destination”, Quang Ninh conveys a message of hospitality, friendliness, and respect for visitors. Preparations for the events have been completed.”

During National Tourism Year 2018, more than 100 events will be held throughout Quang Ninh province, which aims to receive more than 12 million visitors including five million foreigners this year.
