In the first half of 2018, Tien Giang attracted 18 projects with a total registered capital of nearly 300,000 USD. Tien Giang has huge potential for development as it is located at the intersection of the south-eastern and south-western region, connecting HCM City with the rest of the delta.

"Tien Giang plays a key role in boosting growth in the Mekong Delta, the southeastern region, and HCMC. Tien Giang is urged to lead reform to create more dynamic development and address the challenges caused by climate change and other issues that could hinder the province’s development.", said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. 

With huge farming potential, especially in high-quality agriculture, Tien Giang is asked to implement geographical indications for its fruits.

“If the Mekong Delta is dubbed Việt Nam’s fruit kingdom, Tiền Giang should be called “the capital of the fruit kingdom” since it has so many fruit brands such as Lò Rèn Vĩnh Kim star apples, Hòa Lộc mangos and Tân Phước pineapples. It is up to the province’s leadership and enterprises to make it possible for Tiền Giang to acquire geographical indications for its fruits.”, said Mr. Phuc.
