Vietnam’s open education system has adopted several training forms including full-time training, internships, distant training, online training, short-term training, and community education centers. Educational resource centers have been set up.

Some private organizations have also invested in the open education model like TOPICA, GIAPSCHOOL, and FUNIX, which provide E-learning, I-learning, Mobi-learning, and U-learning forms. Many schools nationwide have diversified their extra-curricular activities.

The Ministry of Education and Training assigned Can Tho city to develop something called Innovative Model Schools.

Lam My Linh, Rector of An Thoi Secondary School in Binh Thuy district, Can Tho city, said: "Thanks to implementing innovative models, we offer more activities to school children which makes them enjoy school more. Between lessons, they can go to the reading corner or another specialized learning corner."

By diversifying educational activities, we have improved the quality of education. Le Thanh Thai, Head of the Education and Training Section of Thot Not district, Can Tho city, said: "The quality of education in pre-schools and primary schools has greatly improved. Many schools have now successfully implemented innovative educational models. As a result the quality of the teachers has improved and their mindset has changed."

It is hoped that in the long run, the open education system will improve the quality of Vietnam’s human resources.
