The festival included a short cartoon-making competition, which helped Vietnamese producers learn from the experience and technology of their Korean colleagues. Vietnamese producers won 3 out of 4 prizes in both the professional and amateur categories. Vietnamese winning entries included “Sun flower” by the Vietnam National Cartoon Company, “Fox, Chicken and Mouse” by Nguyen Thanh Tuyen, and “Song of the White Flower” by Huynh Anh Kiet. Nam Jin Kyu, Vice President of the Korean Cartoonist Association and a member of the jury board, said: "This is the first time that I’ve watched a number of Vietnamese cartoons. Vietnamese producers are competent and I’m amazed with the themes, ideas, and materials they chose for cartoon production. They’ve introduced Vietnamese culture through their cartoons and I could recognize it. I hope that Vietnamese producers will continue to embrace national cultural identity and target children and their innocence in every animated film."

Members of the jury board said that based on regional and global standards, Vietnamese cartoons are competitive and can definitely be exported. The Koreans said that they will continue to share their experience with Vietnamese cartoon producers and help them access modern technology towards producing highly competitive films. Nam Jin Kyu said: "We look forward to cooperating with Vietnamese producers after watching their films. I’m sure that accelerated bilateral ties and exchanges will create cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese and Korean cartoon producers."
