(VOVWORLD) - Amidst the spreading Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam is strengthening its preventive measures including tightening quarantine of foreign immigrants.
Though the Covid-19 epidemic is being under control in Vietnam, the country is implementing resolute preventive measures including tightening the management of foreigners entering Vietnam. Checking body temperature, categorizing foreigners upon arrival in Vietnam for isolation, and requiring foreigners to wear facemasks while onboard and upon arrival are among the preventive measures.
As of midnight of Saturday, Vietnam temporarily denies entry of foreigners coming from or transiting through Schengen countries, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland within 14 days preceding their expected entry into Vietnam and suspends visa-on-arrival at border gates to all foreigners regardless of their countries and territories amidst the complication developments of the epidemic. Foreign experts, business managers, and skilled workers will undergo medical check and be subject to preventive measures at their companies and residence as regulated.
As of last Thursday, Quang Ninh province also shut local tourist sites for 2 weeks. The province asked local tourist and transport agencies to conduct health declaration with thousands of visitors in Ha Long Bay.
Dang Tuan Ha, Deputy Director of the Tan Chau International Port, said: “We have mobilized more resources to disinfect the port twice a day, set up 3 quarantine stations and medical teams at the port. All passengers receive temperature check, facemasks and disinfection.”
The Ha Long Bay Management Board asked transport companies to strictly implement disease preventive measures, conduct health declaration as stipulated by the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Response. Foreign tourists are required to declare their departure, transiting countries, history of exposures, and unusual health signs during the last 14 days. These measures have been well responded by foreign tourists.
Strengthening health quarantine and check and prompt isolation has helped Vietnam prevent the spread of the epidemic.
