Work begins on first international education city in Vietnam

Covering an area of 10 ha, the project has a total investment of 44 million USD. The project, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will provide education programs for all education levels: preschool, primary, middle school, high school, university, and post-graduate programs. Students will attend high-quality, bilingual international education programs.

Students who attending the United Kingdom Academy program, sponsored by the Cambridge Education Organization and the British Council, can directly be enrolled in universities in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the US. The School of North America offers American programs. Its graduates can attend American universities or any other university in the world. Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha said: “Attracting domestic and foreign resources to Vietnam’s education sector is a policy of the Vietnamese Party and State and a major task our Ministry. I appreciated the investment in education which encourages learners’ choices and will help raise our education to an international level.”

Designed by the B+H Studio Canada, the IEC Quang Ngai embraces a modern, infrastructure for study and entertainment: a central area designed to inspire students’ emotions and aesthetics, a tower resembling a pen to represent intellectuality and success, a sports center, an indoor stadium, and botanical and vegetable gardens.

The education city will be surrounded by major roads connecting to the central square to accommodate the 6,000 residents. There will also be bus routes and electric vans for hire.

The IEC is scheduled to be inaugurated in May 2019.
