(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang on Wednesday worked with the Vietnam Air Defence Force on the occasion of the 40^th anniversary of the “Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory and the 68^th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army. Sang said the Party and State treasure the glorious feats of arms, especially the historic battle of 12 days and nights against the US B52 bombers’ raids in December 1972. President Sang also emphasized the task of building a strong and modern army: “We need to build a stronger Air Force with improved fighting strength. The air force should be united and absolutely loyal to the Party, the fatherland, the people and the socialist regime. Efforts should be made to build contingents of cadres, Party members, officials and soldiers, who have firm political will and determination and deserve the tradition of heroic Vietnam People’s Army.”
