(VOVWORLD) - Authorities in Ninh Binh province have asked grassroots leaders and travel companies to strictly adhere to COVID-19 prevention measures as the 2021 National Tourism Year begins. Ninh Binh is billing itself as a safe destination during the pandemic.
Ninh Binh has revived its tourism activities as the pandemic subsides. The number of visitors to local destinations like Tam Coc-Bich Dong cave, the Trang An complex, the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, and Bai Dinh pagoda has surged. All these places have been disinfected and hand sanitizer, face masks, and soap are available at entrances and ticket booths. Body temperature scans, mask wearing, and social distancing are observed by tourists and boatmen.
When tourists are informed about strict precautions in Ninh Binh, they feel more secure about visiting, said Nguyen Thi Hoa, a tourist from Hanoi. “We have our body temperature checked, wear a mask, sanitize our hands regularly, and keep a safe distance all the time during our visit. Ninh Binh is a safe destination during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Hoa.

The management board of the Trang An complex collaborates with travel agencies and hotels to diffuse the crowds of visitors.
Pham Sy Khanh, vice chief manager of the Trang An complex, said, “We have a plan for when the number of tourists gets too high. We learned from 2019that when it’s too crowded in Trang An, we should advertise through information channels or directly at the harbor in Trang An Ninh Binh’s other beautiful sites - Tam Coc cave, Bai Dinh pagoda, the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, and Cuc Phuong national park. That’s how we regulate the visitor flow.”
Hotels in Ninh Binh have been asked to instruct their staff and visitors to download the app “Vietnam Health Declaration” and contact tracing app “Bluezone”. They are required to report the number of tourists staying at their facilities on a daily basis.
Doan Minh Quyen, Acting Managing Director of the Hoang Son Hotel, said, “We disinfect our building regularly and demand that all visitors and staff wear masks and sanitize their hands. We collect the phone number and address of every visitor and report to the authorities daily the number of stays.”

The health sector of Ninh Binh province regularly inspects tourist sites and closely monitors the health of all citizens and tourists.
Vu Manh Duong, Director of the Ninh Binh provincial Department of Health, said, “We strictly observe the five measures recommended by the Ministry of Health: wearing masks, sanitizing hands, keeping a safe distance, filling out health declarations, and avoiding crowds. During the Lunar New Year holiday when the number of visitors to Ninh Binh surged, we asked travel agencies in Ninh Binh and adjacent localities to coordinate closely and devise solutions to calm the visitor inflow. Otherwise, we would lose control.”
