(VOVWORLD) - Ninh Thuan province in the south central region is accessible by air, roads, railway, and sea. With warm and sunny weather all year round, rich agriculture, and about 100km of coastline with many spectacular beaches, Ninh Thuan is an attractive tourist destination, and also a potential investment destination for businesses in energy, seaports, and tourism.

With the mottos "advancing ahead", "fast and sustainable development" and "new development mindset", in 2009 Ninh Thuan was the first locality in Vietnam to hire the US’s Monitor Corporation and the UK’s Arup Group to build a socio-economic development strategy to 2020, with a vision to 2030, turning the disadvantages of wind and sun into beneficial qualities.
Based on the development planning approved by the Prime Minister, Ninh Thuan has focused on key economic sectors, including clean energy, tourism, high-tech agricultural production and processing, education, and real estate trading. Ninh Thuan has gained many new opportunities, new values, and new technologies through the international integration and globalization process.
“First, Ninh Thuan focuses on improving the trade and investment environment by creating the most favorable conditions for the private economic sector. Second, the province has improved the socio-economic infrastructure system, especially for transportation, irrigation, and seaway,” said Truong Van Tien, Director of the Ninh Thuan Department of Planning and Investment.
“The most important result is that we have completed 1A terminal in phase one of Ca Na international seaport. The Prime Minister has approved Ninh Thuan’s airport development plan, including the transformation of the Thanh Son military airport into a civil airport,” he noted.
On May 12, Ninh Thuan approved the Resolution on Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, targeting comprehensive, balanced, harmonious, efficient, and sustainable development.
Accordingly, Ninh Thuan will develop 5 areas – energy and renewable energy, high-quality tourism, manufacturing and processing, hi-tech agriculture, and construction and real estate business.
The province intends to achieve breakthroughs in improving competitiveness, completing the framework infrastructure, digital transformation, science and technology application in management and production, innovation and human resource development, and in making the maritime and urban economies asthe driving force and the peopleas the center of development.

“To carry out these tasks, we have reviewed all general plans and land zoning plans, especially the planning of the coastal area. We aim to make full use of the potential and advantages of maritime economic development associated with urban tourism,” said Truong Van Tien, Director of the Ninh Thuan Department of Planning and Investment.
“Recently, Ninh Thuan decided on a policy for 5 investment projects, of which 3 projects have selected investors, namely the Ca Na lagoon new urban area project, the Dinh River urban area, and the Phu Ha new urban area. These projects will complete the urban infrastructure and meet people’s housing demands and socio-economic development needs,” he said.
Ninh Thuan has more than 100 km of coast from Binh Tien to Ca Na, connecting Khanh Hoa with Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces. Nui Chua National Park, a UNESCO recognized world biosphere reserve in Ninh Thuan, has a unique dry dwarf forest ecosystem in Southeast Asia. It has many rocky shores of different and unique shapes, and sandy beaches for turtles to lay eggs.
Ninh Thuan’s beaches are a mong the most beautiful in Vietnam, such as Binh Tien, Vinh Hy, and Binh Son Ninh Chu, which has the upwelling water phenomenon. The province’s warm and sunny climate is suitable for growing grapefruit all year round.
In Ninh Thuan province, there are several world-class resorts, such as Binh Tien, Vinh Hy, Long Thuan Hoan My, and Sailing Bay Ninh Chu. New urban areas have been built to create a new look for Phan Rang-Thap Cham city.
With its potential and unique advantages, Ninh Thuan is suitable for building luxury and highly competitive resorts. It intends to build at least 12 signature tourism products and become one of the 7 key national tourist areas and part of the Golden Tourism Triangle, including Nha Trang city in Khanh Hoa province, and Da Lat city in Lam Dong province.
Ninh Thuan’s tourism industry aims to become a spearhead economic sector by 2030, welcoming 6 million visitors annually.
“Based on our Action Plan, we have consulted with tourism businesses and localities on organizing tourism markets. We give priority to developing the domestic market and traditional foreign markets. We have built 4 groups of local specialties, 4 supportive products, and 4 unique products. By promoting the strength of each locality, we will help them improve their products’ competitiveness,” said Pham Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Ninh Thuan will organize new development space and economic corridors to promote tourism, industrial parks for energy, processing, and manufacturing, and maritime logistics.
Traveling to Ninh Thuan will be easier when roads and railways are connected with the North-South expressway and high-speed railway. Once Thanh Son airport is put into operation, Ninh Thuan will become a gateway for the South Central region and Central Highlands.
