(VOVWORLD) -The transportation sector is accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital for key national projects, highways, inter-regional and coastal projects, and national target programs, hoping to disburse at least 95% of allocated capital. Businesses are working to ensure that key projects will be completed on schedule.

Amid economic turmoil and climate change, the transportation sector has given high priority to the inspection and monitoring of input material sources to ensure disbursements for key projects.
Le Quyet Tien, Director of the Transport Construction Investment Management Authority of the Ministry of Transport, said, “Once the prices and quality of materials are controlled, that will be the basis for completing projects. During project implementation, the involvement of local authorities plays a very important role.”
To reach the 95% disbursement target in this year's plan, investment companies, project management units, and advisory agencies have been asked to show determination, said Deputy Minister of Transportation Nguyen Danh Huy.
“Disbursement is the outcome of on-site construction and of institutional reform to create projects of socio-economic importance. On-site progress must be accelerated,” said Huy, adding, “The current disbursement is strictly controlled by the State Treasury. The disbursement can be carried out quickly, even on Saturdays, if documents are submitted as required.”

Vuong Toan Tuan, Project Executive Director of the Khang Nguyen Infrastructure Construction Investment Company, who is in charge of managing the road project to connect the Ha Long-Hai Phong expressway to Dong Trieu town in Quang Ninh province, said that 80% of a 40-kilometer section worth 268 million USD has already been completed.
Tuan told VOV that right after the Lunar New Year holiday the company mobilized workers, equipment, and materials to accelerate construction progress, hoping to finish on schedule this August.
“We’re focusing on bored piles, abutments, beam casting, and beam digging in addition to under-river platforms and drilling bored piles. These are all important steps in the project,” Tuan noted.
Since the beginning of the year, contractors have been assembling human resources and the means to complete bidding packages while ensuring quality.
Major General Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Commander of Army Corps 12 and Chairman of the Truong Son Construction Corporation, said, “We know that in order to successfully construct key projects like highways, businesses and contractors must have real capacity so that, when needed, we can mobilize all resources and machinery to ensure progress.”
The 13th National Party Congress set a goal of building 3,000 kilometers of expressways by 2025 and 5,000 kilometers by 2030.
