1,250 Buddhist monks and nuns from across Vietnam and abroad attended the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for the 2017-2022 tenure. The event took place on November 21-22
Themed “wisdom, discipline, integration, and development”, the Congress expressed the determination of Vietnamese Buddhists to promote collective wisdom, maintain discipline, enhance solidarity and harmony.
Professor Tran Van Giau, who has studied the relationship between Buddhism and the nation said: “Our nation is closely associated with Buddhism. Buddhism is our guiding star to civilization”. (Quan Su Pagoda, Hanoi)
