B: The vegetables are thinly sliced and arranged on a serving platter. The fish is washed, speared with a long stick from the mouth to the tail, and is then buried in straw which is set on fire. When the fire stops burning, the fish should be done.

A: Deep-fried elephant ear fish is a typical dish of the Mekong Delta. This specialty is made by deep-frying the fish until it becomes crispy and is fully cooked.

B: The meaty and tender pieces of elephant ear fish are often mixed with cucumbers, pickles, and herbs, and the pieces are then wrapped in rice paper. The rolls are usually dipped in sweet and sour sauce that’s made from fish sauce, hot chili peppers, and garlic.

A: Those above-mentioned dishes are some of the typical fish dishes of Vietnam. But in each region, each commune or village, local people have their own special recipes.

B: Visitors to Phu Yen district, Son La province, should not miss a local dish made from fish caught in the nearby Tac stream. Called “Pa nam Tac”, the dish is loved by both local ethnic people and tourists.

B: Thank you, Johnny, for your comment. Angel Eye Mountain is now one of the enchanting destinations for all travelers coming to Cao Bang. This place is favorably called by tourists by the name ‘absolute cup’.

A: Angel Eye Mountain is in a beautiful valley surrounded by green pastures, giving it a unique, poetic aura. From the top of the mountain, you will be overwhelmed by the view of the 15-hectare Nam Tra lake, a vast green grass surrounded by mountains. Under the mountain are winding corn fields that create a “charming mountain water” beauty. The most special is Phja Piót mountain (“perfected mountain” in the Tay ethnic minority language), because the mountain has a large space through its round back like an eye, which is often referred to by the name of the mountain.

A: According to the native Tay people’s language, Nui Mat Than has the local name “Phja Piót”, which translates to a mountain with a hole, pierced through as if the wind blew from one side to the other. The Angel Eye is actually a circular hole with a diameter of more than 50m, located at an altitude of about 50m above the lake surface.

B: The best time to visit Angel Eye Mountain is in September or October, but the mild weather makes it pleasant to come here at any time of the year.

A: Angel Eye Mountain is 50 kilometers from Cao Bang city. It’s accessible by car or motorbike, but motorbikes are more convenient because of the narrowness of the roads.
