Vietnam conducts flights to bring home Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas due to COVID-19 |
He wrote: “It was good news to hear about VOV extending the “What do you know about Vietnam?” contest to July 31 2020. I’m one of the participants preparing to send in my entry. There is so much to write as your six questions cover so many aspects of life in Vietnam. The extended deadline will give me time to refine my ideas and a chance to express my opinion on Vietnam’s effective COVID-19 response, a feat that serves as a model for the world. I thank the VOV contest organizers for this opportunity and I wish everyone at VOV good health and safety during this pandemic period.

A: Commenting on our story about Vietnam’s phased reopening to foreign entry A. Harris wrote: “I think spouses of Vietnamese should be added to the list of those allowed to enter Vietnam. I have been married to a Vietnamese woman for 4 years. I have often visited Vietnam the last 10 years. We have traveled all over Vietnam to Hanoi, HCMC, Da Nang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and more. I have been renting housing in Vietnam all this time. Currently my wife is living alone in HCMC and it has been seven months since I visited her. A spouse family should be allowed to enter under the guidelines.”
