A: Luis Gerardo Loyola of Mexico congratulated VOV and said he hopes VOV will soon re-continue shortwave broadcasts to Latin America and the Caribbean.
B: VOV5’s development strategy right now is to expand shortwave coverage and Internet Radio in key areas, including the US, the EU, Northeast Asia, and ASEAN. We hope our broadcasts will soon return to your region.
A: Japanese listener Sakae Onozawa said his hobby is listening to radio. He likes VOV English Service’s playlists of both Vietnamese folk music and contemporary music. A: Now here are some reception reports from other listeners. Zach Alvarez of the Philippines tuned in to VOV5’s English program on 12020 Khz on September 8. He told us that the signal on this frequency was excellent, with SINPO rating all 5s.
B: Zach said he’s been very happy listening to VOV5’s English program since last year. He says it’s the best source of information about Vietnam and its music.
A: Fachri of Indonesia reported listening to us on 9840 Khz on September 8. He rated SINPO 45544 on a TECSUN PL-330 receiver.
B: Siddhartha Bhattacharjee of India listened to our program on September 13 on the frequency of 7220 Khz. The overall signal was good, he said. He sent us an audio clip of our radio broadcast for reference.
A: In his letter, Anand Mohan Bain, President of the Pariwar Bandhu SWL Club of India said his club members listen to many radio stations in different languages. He wants to get our program guide and frequency schedule.

He’s interested in news about online education in Vietnam and the export of Vietnamese fruit. And like many other listeners, he loves to hear Vietnamese pop songs on VOV.
B: Thank you all for sending us your reception reports. They help us monitor our overseas broadcasts. Sanil Deep of India asked the question: “Are robots used in industry in Vietnam?”
B: In recent years, Vietnamese businesses have been investing in robot manufacturing as the demand for automation grows. Automation is now used in the production of food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, personal care products, hydro and thermal electricity, and automobiles, as well as in mining, metallurgy, oil refining, and recently in health care and education.
A: Becamex, an industrial developer, and Vinfast, an automobile manufacturer, are two companies that have pioneered the use of industrial robots. The two employ approximately 300 industrial robots in their plants.
B: Foreign companies in the field of automation have transferred technologies to Vietnamese businesses and universities through technical assistance programs.
A: Siemens has signed deals for factory digitalization with VNPT and FPT telecom service providers, and Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, and is sponsoring automation laboratories at HCM City University of Technology and Education and Saigon University of Technology.
B: Mitsubishi is sponsoring an automation lab at the Industrial University of HCM City, which has created an Industry 4.0 laboratory, with Siemens providing construction consulting and technology transfers.

A: Since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, industries and other sectors have turned to robots and automation to reduce interpersonal contact and the risk of spreading the coronavirus.
B: The Military Technical Academy has developed a robot to deliver food and other items to patients in COVID-19 field hospitals. The robot, called “Vibot,” was the result of a project begun in April 2020. It was piloted with positive results in Hanoi, and is now being used in HCMC.
A: Vibot carries food, medicine, and other items into the rooms of infectious patient, carries contaminated trash from patient rooms to garbage collection areas, and enables conversations between the patients and their family members, who are not allowed to enter the room.

B: Last year UNDP donated three Ohmni Robots to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases to help protect frontline doctors and nurses from COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. The main function of the Ohmni Robot is remote communication, diagnosis, and treatment.
A: The robots don’t replace doctors and nurses. They simply extend their reach to maximize their safety in a highly infectious environment.
