Colourful festive season in the Central Highlands

(VOVWORLD) - The Central Highlands is in the midst of a festive atmosphere spreading to every corner of the region.
Gia Lai province hosts the opening of the 2020 Gong Cultural Festival on November 20 in order to honour and promote the unique cultural space of the Central Highlands’ Gong which was recognized in 2005 by UNESCO as part of the Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
A festival for Da Quy flowers, also known as wild sunflower or by their scientific name of Tithonia diversifolia, is held between November 20 and November 26 in order to celebrate the event.
The flower festival is organised at the foot of the dormant Chu Dang Ya volcano which is located approximately 30km northeast of Gia Lai city.
Da Quy flowers can be seen in full bloom in November and December each year, serving to create a beautiful landscape for visitors to enjoy.
The festival typically attracts millions of guests each year.
A cultural festival is held to showcase the various traditions of ethnic groups in Gia Lai city. Pictured is a Bahnar ethnic artisan as she weaves brocades.

In tandem with the event, Pleiku city hosts a photo exhibition featuring the Gongs of the Central Highlands.
