Da Nang pilots to use drones to monitor people to “stay where they are”

(VOVWORLD) - Da Nang authorities have begun to deploy drones in an effort to control local people as they continue to implement COVID-19 prevention measures across the locality.
The administration of Hai Chau district mobilises 14 drones aimed at monitoring residents in high-risk areas, including Hoa Thuan Dong, Binh Hien, and Thach Thang wards. |
The drones are controlled by the Da Nang club. |
Local authorities hold a meeting with the Da Nang club to discuss how best to check pandemic control measures throughout the city by using flycams. |
The purpose of these measures is to curb the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in small alleys and residential groups in the central city. |
On August 29 the number of positive COVID-19 cases in small alleys is 56 of total 106 cases, accounting for 52% of new infection cases each day. |
The high population density in small alleys is one of the main reasons behind the increase in daily infection cases. |
Residents are urged to follow pandemic prevention measures in high-risk areas. |
Locals have been asked to remain at home during the ongoing lockdown period. |
People travelling in small alleys increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission among themselves. |
