Hanoi welcomes the official launch of the first electric bus route on December 2, 2021.
The bus route connects the My Dinh area in Nam Tu Liem district to the Vinhomes Ocean Park urban area in Long Bien district, with buses running every 10 to 15 minutes.
Nguyen Manh Quyen, vice chairman of Hanoi’s authorities, says the first 48 electric buses will contribute to building a green-friendly environment in the capital.
Tickets cost between VND7,000 and VND9,000 per trip. A monthly ticket is priced at around VND55,000 for students and VND200,000 for others. Elderly people over 60, the disabled, and children under six can travel free of charge.
The buses are fully equipped with advanced devices, including an automated system which warns both drivers and passengers about unsafe situations, along with free wifi, USB charging hubs, and security cameras.
Passengers can buy tickets on the website vedientu.vinbus.vn, VinID application, or their bank account.
VinBus is an electric bus model, which is designed to offer the greatest level of comfort to passengers.
VinBus plans to open more routes to connect other destinations in Hanoi after the pilot period.
