Mini bonsais favourites with customers ahead of Tet
VOV -
(VOVWORLD) - Gardeners in Van Giang district of the northern province of Hung Yen are busy these days trimming mini bonsais to meet customers’ increasing demand for the coming Lunar New Year festival, known locally as Tet.
Gardeners prepare many papaya pots to serve customers over the Tet period. |
The price of each mini papaya tree varies from several hundreds of thousands of VND to dozens of millions of VND. |
It’s worth the price because gardeners has spent much time and energy trimming such a bonsai. |
This pot of a papaya bonsai costs VND3 million or (US$130). |
Papaya trees bearing flowers in full bloom, green fruit, and fresh leaves are among the most popular items with customers. |
In addition, gardeners in Van Giang district plant yellow lemon bonsais so they can cater to a variety of tastes. |
The process of making beautiful shapes means that gardeners must often take care of the trees. |
This year has seen the prices of yellow lemon bonsais equal previous years. |
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, gardeners have chosen not to increase prices. Indeed, in some cases they are even lowering prices of some small trees to stimulate consumption demand. |
Many buyers order trees with lots of fruit several months ahead of Tet. |
Those trees can be used to decorate homes, offices, or become special gifts during the festive occasion. |
