National squad receive warm welcome in UAE ahead of World Cup qualifiers

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese men’s national football team received a warm welcome upon landing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on May 26 ahead of their participation in the upcoming second round of Asian qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Many Vietnamese expats residing in the UAE are present at the airport to greet the team’s arrival. |
A flight carrying the national team leaves Noi Bai International Airport at 4:10 p.m. on May 26 before arriving in the UAE at 10:45 p.m. on the same day (Vietnam time). |
Upon arrival in the UAE and after taking novel coronavirus (COVID-19) tests, the Vietnamese men’s football team depart the airport and head to their hotel. |

The Vietnamese team features 30 players, all of whom arrive safely in the UAE. Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam is set to join the team on June 2. |
The national team will play Indonesia on June 7, Malaysia on June 11, before facing hosts the UAE on June 15 as part of the remaining fixtures in Group G of the Asian region’s World Cup qualifiers. |
