At tranquil pagodas, revelers ask for a Nom script from calligraphers, expecting happiness, luck and success in the new year.

Visiting pagodas on the lunar New Year’s holiday is a fine custom of Vietnamese people to pray for happiness, health, and luck.

Nguyet Linh who was born and grew up in Hue says she always spends the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday visiting the Hue Imperial Citadel.

It’s a bit cold with a little rain which is convenient for local people to visit a pagoda on lunar New Year’s Day.
