Pho Tho flower village in bloom just in time for Tet

(VOVWORLD) - Similar to other flower villages throughout the Mekong Delta region, the 100-year-old Pho Tho-Ba Bo village in Can Tho city has seen colourful flowers blooming ahead of the Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet.
 The village features many different kinds of ornamental trees and flowers each Tet. |
 Daisy flowers are typically the most popular items among buyers, especially in the Mekong Delta region. |
 Hanging flower pots prove popular due to their elegance in terms of colours and shapes. |
 They are also very useful as they can be used to decorate the home after Tet. |
 According to many local gardeners, this year’s output has decreased by 40% compared to previous years due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Indeed, the amount of ornamental trees and flowers is only enough to meet the demand of locals in Can Tho city and some neighbouring localities. |
 Each pot of daisy flowers costs between VND150,000 and VND360,000, equivalent to US$6.52 to US$15.65. |
