Residents in Quang Ninh border province take quick COVID-19 tests

(VOVWORLD) - More than 3,000 local people in the northern border province of Quang Ninh who recently returned from Da Nang have taken part in quick COVID-19 tests in order to halt the transmission of the virus among the wider community.
Quang Ninh confirmed on August 4 a total of 4,221 people have returned to the locality from Da Nang and Quang Nam since July 1. Of the figure, 3,272 people who are yet to pass the 14-day isolation period have been tested to detect signs of the virus.

Both adults and children volunteer to undergo rapid COVID-19 tests.

If someone tests positive, he/she will be transferred to hospital for quarantine and PCR tests to confirm the results.

A healthcare station in Hong Hai ward of Ha Long city sees 130 specimens taken on August 4. All 25 suspect cases had previously tested negative through the PCR testing method.

Each resident is able to receive their test results in 15 minutes. |
Locals who complete a quick test are still required to isolate at home and update authorities on their health status.

Between August 2 and 4, as many as 3,269 people had taken rapid COVID-19 tests, including 2,475 individuals who test negative, and 794 cases who are still waiting for their results.

Quang Ninh hopes to complete testing for all returnees from Da Nang and Quang Nam on August 5. Other people showing symptoms such as a fever, a cough, or shortness of breath will have quick tests conducted before August 10.
