Van Don International Airport welcomes back first passengers after closure

(VOVWORLD) - Located in the northern province of Quang Ninh, Van Don International Airport reopened after being closed for one month on March 3, with strict novel coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention measures being enforced at the site.
Upon opening, the airport will serve flights operated by domestic airlines VietJet Air and Vietnam Airlines between Van Don and Ho Chi Minh City from Tuesdays to Sundays. |
VietJet Air’s Flight VJ230 from Ho Chi Minh City is the first to land at Van Don International Airport on the morning of March 3, with 41 passengers onboard. |
Due to the previous outbreak at the airport, a range of COVID-19 prevention measures are strictly implemented. |
Security guards request that all passengers don face masks whilst maintaining a safe distance from others. |
Passengers patiently queue up for check in whilst observing regulations. |
Staff at the airport spend time instructing passengers on how to correctly fill in medical declaration forms, whilst also carrying out other check in procedures. |
All travelers are required to thoroughly wash their hands with sanitiser. |
Along with welcoming the return of passengers, all restaurants at the airport also reopen in order to serve travelers. |
Passengers must undergo a body temperature check before being permitted to enter the restaurants. |
