Vietnam Day of Older Persons: beauty in old age
(VOVWORLD) - “Respect the elderly, tolerate the youngsters” and “By respecting the elders you will achieve longevity” are time-honoured sayings in Vietnam.
In the family and the community, seniors are respected for their role in connecting past and present generations. Today’s seniors contributed their youth to national liberation, construction, and development.
June 6 is observed as Vietnam Day of Older Persons. In response the Vietnamese government has created incentives for elderly people: social beneficiary policies, reduced ticket prices and service fees, and a longevity celebration.
We have put together a collection of photos to mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Day of Older Persons.
