(VOVWORLD) - US magazine Insider has added Ha Long Bay of Vietnam to its list of the top 50 most beautiful natural wonders in the world.
The magazine said Ha Long Bay’s rare and superb natural beauty make it one of Vietnam’s top travel destinations. According to Insider, visitors to Ha Long will have the chance to admire nature’s beauty and take part in exciting activities like Kayaking and helicopter tours
Ha Long Bay is in Vietnam's northeastern province of Quang Ninh, 165 km from Hanoi. Ha Long Bay consists of more than 1,900 islands covering 1,500 sq km.
UNESCO has twice recognized Ha Long Bay as a World Heritage Site. The area designated by UNESCO as the World Natural Heritage Site incorporates 434 km2 with 775 islets, with the central points being: Dau Go island on the west, Ba Ham lake on the south and Cong Tay island on the east.
In 2003, the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World included Ha Long Bay in its member list.
The New Open World Corporation officially recognized Ha Long Bay as a new world natural wonder in 2012.
