100 medical staffs and volunteers from Operation Smile will care for the young patients this week, many of whom are from northern mountainous provinces, central regions, and disadvantaged ethnic minority families.
In addition, the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital will pay for part of the cost for expensive treatments that requires advanced technology.
This year’s program marks the 35th anniversary of the cooperation between Operation Smile and the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital. Over the course of their cooperation, the hospital has performed nearly 18,000 lip and palate surgeries.
The Hospital has also launched a Comprehensive Cleft Lip and Palate Treatment Unit to meet patients’ needs.
