(VOVworld) – The 12^th Vietnamese Poetry Day opened on Thursday at Van Mieu, the Temple of Literature. The event, organized by the Vietnam Writers’ Association, saw the participation of representatives of sectors, poetry clubs, students, and poetry lovers from many cities and provinces.

President of the Association, Huu Thinh, addressed the opening: "The 12^th Vietnamese Poetry Day is celebrated in many localities across Vietnam today. In Hanoi, Poetry Day honors and promotes the spirit of the Temple of Literature, and the convergence of national cultural identities. We target readers and new demands of life, which is the best way to make poetry flourish."

During the two-day event, there will be various activities including the giving of books and poems, writing calligraphy, and discussions with authors.
