(VOVworld) - The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union has launched the 2012 summer youth volunteer campaign themed “Youth joining hands to build new rural areas”.

At the launching ceremony yesterday in Ha Tinh province, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on relevant agencies to follow Prime Minister’s guidance to cooperate and create favorable conditions for the Youth Union to make this year’ summer campaign successful:“The Youth Union and its members must play the vanguard role in the movement of joining hands to build new rural areas and in activities to ensure traffic safety and order. I urge the Youth Union to expand the summer campaign to Laos and Cambodia to celebrate the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Year 2012, which will contribute to concretizing guidelines of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on renovating and improving the quality of people-to-people diplomacy in the new period.”
The campaign targets to construct 1-kilometer of rural road in each district, build or repair 2000 cultural and charity houses, and involving 4,000 youth members in technology transfer, training courses, and vocational counseling programs.
