2.6 million tourists visit Hanoi during Tet

(VOVworld) - Hanoi has so far welcomed 2.6 million visitors, including 100,000 foreigners, during the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday. The municipal Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism reported 11% more domestic visitors and 12% more foreign tourists this year. Popular local tourist attractions like the Temple of Literature, Sword Lake, Ngoc Son temple, and Huong pagoda, were all decorated for the occasion.

Guides and security guards were deployed at tourist sites. Big hotels in Hanoi hosted New Year’s Eve parties, handed out greeting cards, and gave lucky money to their guests. The Thang Long Water Puppetry Theater and other entertainment venues remained open.
