(VOVWORLD) - President Tran Dai Quang has asked An Giang province to upgrade its infrastructure, mobilize and effectively use internal and external resources, invest more in industrial parks and transport infrastructure, and create more regional connectivity.

At a meeting on Sunday with An Giang’s local authorities and people, President Quang urged the province to restructure its agricultural production, promote high-tech agriculture, and work out more incentives to encourage enterprises to invest in agriculture.
President Quang said tourism should be promoted as the province’s spearhead economic sector. To this end, it’s necessary to put in place more incentives for tourism development, improve the tourism environment, and strengthen communications.
The President emphasized on the need to strengthen the armed forces and increase coordination between forces to defend national sovereignty and border security, enhance security in ethnic and religious affairs, and boost external relations especially with neighboring countries to build a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
