Key attendees will include Global Foundries, Amkor, AMD, Intel, FPT, and more. The event will focus on helping Vietnamese businesses integrate further into the global semiconductor supply chain and boost Vietnam's role in the industry. It will also provide opportunities for companies involved in microchip design, assembly, testing, and manufacturing.
At the press briefing on Wednesday in Hanoi, Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center, applauded the initiative by the Ministry of Planning and Investment as a strategic advisor for socio-economic development. This event plays a key role in advancing the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy and the Human Resource Development Program.
"It focuses on building international partnerships, securing resources to grow the semiconductor industry, and connecting local and foreign businesses for investment. SEMIExpo aims to create a strong support ecosystem and attract investment from top global companies in the semiconductor sector," Huy added.
President of SEMI Southeast Asia, Linda Tan, co-organizer of the event, said that Vietnam's semiconductor market is expected to grow to 31.39 billion USD by 2029, with an annual growth rate of 11.48% from 2024 to 2029.
"The government is fostering a supportive environment for the industry through strategic policies and initiatives. SEMIExpo provides a platform for stakeholders to share knowledge and highlight Vietnam's capabilities and ambitions in the semiconductor sector," Tan added.
The expo will include conferences, seminars, business networking, industry connections, and training programs for Vietnamese students.
