Blood donation festival to take place in Hanoi
(VOVworld) The 5th blood donation campaign entitled Xuan Hong is expected to ease Vietnam’s current blood shortage, according to Doctor Nguyen Anh Tri, Director of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. The festival will take place this weekend. Dr. Tri said that with so many patients returning to hospitals after Tet and the number of emergency cases increasing, hospitals are facing critical blood shortages. Doctor Tri said: "This event calls on young people to donate their blood. This is an opportunity to rehearse those procedures that will be necessary in times of emergency."
The festival is expected to attract the participation of 20,000 people.
