(VOVworld) – An event to promote a reading culture and honor women’s contributions to society has been held at Nguyen Van Binh book street in HCM City on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8.

The week-long event includes an exhibition of women on newspapers and 40 years of development of the HCM City’s Women newspaper. Various kinds of books about family, psychology, and beauty are introduced. Female customers will enjoy a 20 to 30% discount on March 8.
Le Hoang, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Publication Association and Deputy Head of the book street, says: “The exhibition and book-related activities offer the public more information about the role of women in society, particularly their position in culture, composition, and publication.”
