(VOVworld)- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has urged his visiting El Salvador counterpart to encourage the El Salvador government to early recorgnise Vietnam’s market economy status. During talks with Chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Sigfrido Reyes in Hanoi on Thursday, Hung asked the El Salvador government to support and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to operate in this Latin American nation. He wished that the Vietnam National Assembly and the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador will increase delegation exchanges, share information and work closely at multilateral parliamentary forums.

Sigfrido Reyes said the purpose of his visit to Vietnam is to examine the possibility of strengthening cooperation between the two legislative bodies and peoples. The visit aims to share experience with Vietnam in implementing poverty reduction and social welfare policies, so as to boost friendly cooperation in the interest of each country and for peace and development.  He said he hopes that Vietnam will help El Salvador develop cooperative relations with other countries in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific regions. He said his country’s foreign policy has oriented towards Asia Pacific, including Vietnam and supported Vietnam’s cooperation with central America as a place of large oil reserves. The same day, Chairman of the El Salvador Legislative Assembly Sigfrido Reyes met Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong and President Truong Tan Sang. The leaders wished for further cooperation with Latin America and El Salvador and expected early signing of bilateral agreements in double tax avoidance and education cooperation.
