Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping made the remarks during a meeting with Taiwanese Kuomintang Honorary Chairman Lien Chan in Beijing on Tuesday. Mr Xi said Chinese people on the mainland and in Taiwan should co-operate and provide mutual support to build the “Chinese Dream” regardless of their different parties, classes, religions, or places of origins. Lien Chan said the 2005 reconciliation dialogue between the Chinese Communist Party and Taiwan’s Kuomintang moved them closer to the ideal of “One China”. He said the two should enhance mutual respect and cooperation to promote further peaceful development and revitalization.
