(VOVWORLD) - The inauguration of the Quang Trach-Quynh Luu electric line section on Tuesday has completed the construction of the circuit-3 500 kV transmission line stretching from the central province of Quang Binh to the northern province of Hung Yen.

The circuit-3 500 kV transmission line is intended to increase power capacity from the central region to the north and ensure electricity supply for people’s daily lives and socio-economic development.
Pham Le Phu, General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation, said: “In the past, it took two to four years to complete the construction of 500 kV transmission projects of some hundred kilometers length. This project was done in a record time of six months, under drastic direction of the Government, especially the Prime Minister, on the importance of national energy in general, and the electricity industry in particular.”
Great efforts were made to inaugurate the key national project on the National Day, September 2. The project, whose construction time is the shortest so far, will go down in the history of infrastructure construction in Vietnam as a miracle.
The circuit-3 500 kV line will increase the inter-regional transmission capacity from the current 2,200 MW to about 5,000 MW, equivalent to an additional commercial electricity supply to the north of more than 20 billion kWh annually.
