COVID-19 continues to spread, Hanoi focuses on contact tracing, testing

(VOVWORLD) -As the  COVID-19 epidemic is evolving more complicated, Hanoi authority has focused on tracking and testing people who are believed to have had contact with COVID-19 patients.

At a meeting on Sunday, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Hanoi said the city has reported 7 new infections in the community since July 25.

Hanoi has stepped up testing those who returned from Da Nang, the epicenter of the country’s latest coronavirus outbreak, and those who had close contact with COVID-19 patients. Nearly 75,000 people will be subject to RT-PCR tests, which started on Saturday.

On Sunday morning, Vietnam confirmed 2 new cases of COVID-19, one in Hanoi and the other in Bac Giang. Both were in close contact with COVID-19 patients who returned from Da Nang outbreak.

According to the Ministry of Health, as of Sunday, Vietnam had a total of 812 patients, of whom 317 imported cases were immediately isolated. The number of new cases related to Da Nang since July 25 has risen to 355 cases. The number of deaths was 10 people. 395 people were cured from COVID-19.
